Soil Booklet
This mini-booklet was created for a pre-GCSE geography group, but there is much overlap with the GCSE syllabuses. It looks at what soil is, its composition, types of soils, soil horizons, soil erosion and desertification.
It was done in 2014, so some of the figures may be a little out of date now, but soil is much the same as it has ever been, so it should still be relevant to your bog-standard KS3/4 student. Shamefully, I didn’t keep any sources for the information in the booklet. Sorry.
It has cross-over with environmental management.
To make:
- Print out.
- Fold each sheet in half along the shortest length (print on the outside).
- Fold in half again along the shortest length (pages 1 and 8 on the outside of the first sheet and 3 and 6 on the outside of the second page so that each sheet is a quarter of its original size.
- All the page numbers should now be at the bottom of each side, so place the second folded sheet inside the first folded sheet, and hopefully you will have pages 1-8 as a readable booklet.
